Council awarded ‘green transportation’ stimulus funding

The Council continues to seek out and secure federal economic stimulus funds to benefit the region. The latest award is for gas hybrid-electric Metro Mobility vehicles.


Vacancy on Regional Parks Commission

The Council is seeking applicants from Park District D in Minneapolis. Application deadline is Nov. 24. The Parks Commission helps the Council develop long-range plans for the Twin Cities system of regional parks and trails. More about the vacancy.

Council allocates $12 million for transit corridors

The state bonding dollars will help accelerate transit improvements in three busy regional corridors:

  • Southwest Corridor
  • Rush Line Corridor
  • Cedar Avenue Bus Rapid Transit (BRT).

Transportation projects receive final scores in regional funding process.

The final scores for projects evaluated in the 2009 regional solicitation are available for review. The Transportation Advisory Board will award the funds in January or February 2010. The final scores and ranked lists of projects.
